"Woody" by Norva Mestayer
Norva Mestayer is a Louisiana native, graduating from C.E. Byrd High & receiving her diploma from Commercial College in 1974. Norva has a love for Louisiana's waterways and scenery. Her love stems from the fond memories of her grandparents 80 acre farm along the Ouachita River. As well as the sweet summer days spent on Cross Lake and Caddo Lake. Give Norva a palette and a brush and she will paint anywhere! However, one of her favorite places to capture Louisiana's beauty was on the top deck of her husbands houseboat, nestled between the cypress trees of Lake Dauterive. She now enjoys painting backyard scenes along the Bayou Teche and getting creative in her art studio.
Meet the Artist
Norva often frequented the Barnwell Art Center along the Red River in Shreveport, Louisiana. There, Norva absorbed new learning techniques, color intensity, and marketing strategies. She enjoyed being able to observe quality art being produced by incredibly talented artist.
Norva's work evolved into some very extensive assignments. Such assignments include: projected highway displays, television & radio commercials as well as newspaper ads. These projects really allowed her creative abilities to shine through!
